Elephant’s Population increasing in the Assam

Assam has recorded remarkable increase in the population of elephant according to newest census of elephants.

Total 5,620 elephants are living in the Assam state of India, according to the newest census of elephant compared to the 5,246 elephants in census of 2009 year. As per this data, 374 elephants increased between 2009 and 2011 that is a good indication for elephants and wildlife lovers. Forest minister of Assam, Rockybul Hussain said “we are very happy by this news and are active for increasing the Assam’s wildlife”. He said, we wants make Assam an ideal tourist destination and wildlife state in India. the minister of forest also released one report the regarding elephant census.

If we are comparing age wise then we found composition of elephants population showed 17 percent Calf, 12 percent Juvenile, 20 Sub-Adult and 51 percent adult—which is also the considered to be normal far the healthy of the elephant population, report said.

The elephant census report also then noted there are have 25 protected areas (PAs), 5 national parks and 20 wildlife sanctuaries and 3,054 elephants are living in these parts. While 2,516 elephants are living in the managed forests like proposed reserve forests, reserve forests, district council reserve forests and the unclassed forests and 50 elephants are living in the revenue areas. Hence, this report shows all elephants in the Assam living in the protected areas and they are secure.  This report is indicating to the wildlife protecting in Assam and India.

Among the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, first rank takes by the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) with the 1,165 population of elephant and second position takes by the Manas National Park (MNP) with the 945 elephants.

Another important showed by the newest elephant census, Manas National Park has taken first position among the wildlife sanctuaries and National Parks in the term of density of elephant, its density is 189 elephants per hundred square kilometres area and second position of Kaziranga national park with 135.6 elephants per 100 square kilometres area. Rajiv Gandhi National Park has taken lowest position with only 5.08 elephants per 100 square kilometres areas.  The Dibru Saikhowa sanctuaries and the Nameri wildlife sanctuary recorded population of elephants of the 233 and the 115, the respectively, report mentioned.

Good News for Tiger and Wildlife Lovers from Madhya Pradesh

Good news for tiger lovers and wildlife lovers from the Madhya Pradesh and its Kanha National park. The population of tigers in the Madhya Pradesh is on increase. This central state that was top in the list of tiger population but it has lost many tigers in last year. But now it would rapidly acquire its lost honour because birth’s reports of tiger cubs from its parks and reserves.

After the birth’s reports of the tiger cubs from Panna Tiger Reserve, Kanha National Park, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve and Pench Tiger Reserve, best news came from the unexpected the quarters. The photograph of tigress with her 2 cubs was captured the through camera-trap method, Bhopal Circle, the Chief Conservator Forest (CCF),  SS Rajput, said, adding that some of the forest officials have seen tigress with her cubs.

“Although tigress the remained elusive and images of the 2 cubs have been the captured on cameras the installed in forests to locate tigress and the tiger, which have regularly strayed in the forest area,” he added.
The ages of the cubs are approx two and a half months. Officer of the Forest department spotted the pugmarks of cubs and tigress before a week ago in the Kerwa forest area.
Since the last year, tigress has made the areas of Kerwa forest her territory. It probably reached here from the nearby the forest range of the Ratapani, the forest department sources said. The Rajput believed that a male tiger was too roaming there and pugmarks of the male tiger were too spotted in area. Sometime back, National Judicial Academy’s staff also saw male tiger on their campus the after which an alert was the sounded. The Signboards were put-up at different places in forest to warn the people about presence of tiger in surrounding areas.

Jim Corbett national park

Jim Corbett national park is famous largest, oldest and most beautiful national park of India. It is the majestic place for wildlife lovers. The park was established in 1936 & declared as tiger reserve in 1973 by government of India. The old name of park was ramganga national park. Mr. Jim Corbett played a great role for establishing it hence in 1956 government of India decided to change its name as Corbett to give honor to Mr. Jim Corbett for his contribution. Ranthambhore National Park is located near Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan and is a famous national park of India. It’s not too far from Delhi which is an added advantage for a visitor coming to Delhi for a short break. Ranthambhore is a perfect place to mark the Royal Bengal Tiger. There are few lakes in the national park which are the home of a range of birds.

Kaziranga National Park:-


Kaziranga National Park is situated on the banks of great Brahmaputra River in the northeast state of India Assam. This national park is known for very rare one horned rhinos. We can see main birds in the park like- Pallas fishing eagle, Crested Serpent eagle, swamp partridges against a background of mountains & dense forest.

Bandhavgarh national park:-

This park is situated in Vindhyas Mountain of central India state Madhya Pradesh. Even being a small national park Bandhavgarh is known for highest density of tiger population in India. Bandhavgarh national can be visited with two famous tourist destinations of India Khajuraho & Varanasi

Gir National Park:-


Gir national park is located in Gurjarat. Gir is known as the last home of Asiatic lion. Asiatic lion is comparatively smaller than African lion in size. The big cats can be seen into their natural atmosphere at dusk and dawn when these lions are on the hunt.

Wildlife in India

India has a very rich biodiversity of various origins. Wildlife in India is preserved in plenty of national parks & wildlife sanctuaries. Study shows that India along with 17 other mammoth diverse countries is a habitat of about 60-70% world’s biodiversity. National park in India:-


Hailey national park now known as Jim Corbett national park first national park of India it was established in 1935. India had only five national parks in 1970. In1972 Indian government started wildlife protections act to safe guard the habitats of conservation reliant species. Wildlife act was introduced in 1980. As on April, 2007 there were 96 national parks in India. All national park land encamped a combined 38029.18 km from India’s total surface area.
Now there are 166 national parks authorized in India which includes some famous national park like- kaziranga national park, Corbett national park, gleathea national park, Indra Gandhi national park, kanha national park, nandankanan national park etc.

Wild life sanctuary:-


India has over 551 animal sanctuaries. Some wildlife sanctuaries are specifically named bird sanctuary. Wildlife sanctuary and national park is indeed a delight for the nature lover. The wildlife sanctuary speared across the country offer a fascinating diversity of terrain flora and fauna. India has preserved vast tract of forest and habitats in its 441 wildlife sanctuary. Wild life sanctuary has significant importance for the conservation of some flagship faunal species like national chambal wildlife sanctuary.

Project tiger:-


Project tiger is administered by national tiger conservation authority
It was an initiative by government of India to protect tigers & provide them a natural habitat. There were more then 40 project tiger reserve covering area over 37761 km in 2008. The number of tigers in wild India has gone up by 20% according to latest tiger census.1706 tigers including in sunder bans at the last count. Project tiger was meant to identify the limited factors to mitigate by suitable management.
Project tiger once saved the tiger from extinction in India. Today the project is some major problems creating grave situation for India tiger.
Conservation of the tiger and their prey species faces challenges from the need for income, Lake of awareness, unstoppable poaching and lake of land use policy in landscape having tiger reserve.
