During the winter months, the birds come from Siberia and Europe as geese, crane etc.
Sultanpur was established in 1972 and the founder of this bird sanctuary was Dr Slim Ali. One can take the excursion to Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary while staying at Delhi or Gurgaon.

Wildlife in Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary Haryana
The major bird species of Sultanpur are darters, gadwalls, egrets shovellers and geese. The other birds are Teals, lapwings, kingfishers, demoiselle cranes and sandpipers etc.
There are over 100 bird species in this Bird Sanctuary. In migratory birds, the geese and Siberian cranes are prominent ones and they come in Sultanpur in winter months.
A bird watcher can also see pelicans, ruddy shelducks, flamingoes, greylags, bar-headed geese, mallards, gadwalls and pochards.
In resident birds, the main species are plovers, herons, white ibises, cormorants, painted storks and spoonbills.
Other wild animals of Sultanpur are blackbuck, blue bull, hog deer, wild dog, Sambhar, caracal, hedgehog, wild cat, mongoose, Indian porcupine, striped hyena, honey badger, wild pig, leopard and four-horned antelope.
